My Philosophy...

Lead by serving
I understand and live a very real and time tested principle:  Those who want to lead need to first be experts at service.  I enjoy and demonstrate service in my community, and at work, church and home.

Do it right
There is no substitute for excellence.  If a project is worth the planning effort, it is worth implementing well.  Excellence is its own reward, and it is even better when you can share excellence by helping others achieve as well.

Honesty and integrity
Any organization has to believe that its leaders are always going to do the right thing and represent the organization with integrity.  Integrity cannot be turned on and off, and it must be pursued even when there is personal cost.

Get it done
There are probably dozens of ways to approach most issues and projects.  More often than not, the most straightforward solution is the best.  Elaborate solutions add complexity and bring limited marginal benefit.

Never stop learning
The health care industry is so dynamic that it demands constant learning.  Learning occurs through formal continuing education efforts, seminars, mentoring, and listening to associates and customers.  Leaders at all levels must continue to learn.
